A contemporary beachfront villa located in the private and gated Playacar community in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, has come to the market for $8.9 million.

Designed in 2017 by Sordo Madaleno, one of the leading architectural firms in Mexico, the home offers more than 22,000 square feet of living space, inside and out, according to this week’s listing with Sally Sudol of The Agency.

Dubbed Villa Kin Ich, or House of the Mayan Sun God, the residence has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and three living areas opening to beachside patios and pools.

A modern kitchen features sleek white cabinets, limestone flooring, a center island and high-end appliances. There is also a spacious entertainment and game room that’s equipped with a flat-screen TV and a pool table, according to the listing.

The home boasts stunning ocean views from almost everywhere, Ms.Sudol said. “Even from the back part of the villa, you can see through multiple windows to the cerulean ocean.”

Solar panels are installed at the rooftop, which also has entertaining areas and ocean views, listing photos show.

The developer of the property, Inversiones Kappmaster, SA de CV, has been renting it out for the past few years. The Mexican company is selling this property to fund its new development in Cabo.

“With excellent rental history, it’s perfect for residence or as an investment property,” Ms. Sudol said.

Riviera Maya is a popular tourism and resort district of Cancun along the Caribbean coastline, about a two-hour flight from Miami or Houston.
