The Wakanda film has generated a positive impact for the Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta for his outstanding participation, he could win an Oscar in the category of best supporting actor.

The actor Tenoch Huerta has given a lot to talk about since he has been key to ending prejudice in Mexico, normally in our country, there is a preference for people with light complexions, an example of this are the Castinger who tend to look mainly for talent with an international look, leaving talent with Mexican characteristics far below, so there are clearly more opportunities in the medium for foreigners.

In Mexico, six out of ten Mexicans are brown. 15 percent of people have felt that their rights have not been respected because of their skin tone, according to the National Survey on Discrimination (ENADIS).

Because of this, some Mexicans are proud that the actor is originally from Ecatepec de Morelos, despite the difficulties, and risks that this place represents, Tenoch has managed to overcome himself and reach the production of the world of Marvel Studios.

The film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been well received by the audience, since its release, it has accumulated 409.8 million dollars in North America alone, its budget was around 250 million dollars, it has led the box office despite the fact that a drop of 11 million dollars was detected in a weekend in which the theaters were not full.

Wakanda Forever is the sequel to 2018’s “Black Panther”, which starred Chadwick Boseman, who unfortunately died of cancer in 2020 at the age of 43.

The Wakanda film has been a complete success, proof of this is that it has been considered for several Oscar Award nominations, including: Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Makeup and Hairstyle, The Best Adapted Screenplay, among others.

However, the one that stands out is the category of best supporting actor where Tenoch Huerta is found for his role as “Namor” along with Winston Duke who gives life to M’Baku.

Other nominations include Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o for Best Supporting Actress, Ryan Coogler for Best Director and Ruth Carter for Best Costume Design among others.

The Mexican actor shared on his Twitter account the publication of the Wakanda nominations with emojis that show signs of support and gratitude, in addition to the Mexican flag.

The case of Tenoch Huerta has a certain similarity with that of Yalitza Aparicio, since both have achieved great things in the cinema, putting Mexico on high, despite having been criticized mainly for their skin tone, racism continues to exist in Mexico , in addition to some prejudices, so this represents a cancer that must be eradicated from the country, so that instead of underestimating it due to certain physical characteristics, it seeks to promote and support the talent of Mexicans who show that they have a lot to offer in Mexico and in the world.
