The traditional celebration brought together 9 thousand people, including locals and visitors

Mazatlán, Sin.- Cosalá Pueblo Mágico dressed up in the celebration of one more edition of its Fiesta de las Velas, as part of the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

The Cosaltecos and around 9,000 visitors toured the streets and alleys of the town where the lit candles indicated the path to follow to reach the chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where a mass was offered in her honor at the end.

Thousands of women, men, boys and girls, with candle in hand and united as one, formed long lines walking through cobbled or cobbled streets, with prayers and songs in honor of the Guadalupana.

With a history of more than 3 centuries, the festival became a ritual in which streets, doors, windows, and sidewalks are illuminated with thousands of candles.

The Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, attended this event, one of the most representative of the state, which attracts national and foreign tourists, and which has been taking place for more than 300 years.

In 2019, this festival was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Sinaloa for its historical roots.

At the end of the procession, everyone gathered in the chapel where they participated in the thanksgiving mass.
