QUERÉTARO, Qro., November 10, 2022.- The car sharing application in the municipality of Querétaro registers 3,000 users so far, according to the secretary of mobility in the capital, Rodrigo Vega Maestre.
In an interview, the official explained that there are already three thousand downloads of the application.
“We are moving forward, I have to say it little by little, so we visualize it, why is car sharing a paradigm shift,” said the official.
It should be remembered that the intention of the application is to reduce traffic through the transport of people to the same destination, in exchange for discounts and promotions in establishments.
At a press conference, he pointed out that this application is added to the actions and programs that are part of the comprehensive mobility strategy, such as the Qrobici shared bicycle system, the Approaching program, and free school transportation, among others.
“With this Let’s Go Together application, we seek to reduce the number of vehicles on the streets, reduce environmental pollution, and support the economy of families, as well as boost businesses in the capital. We do it so that families live better in the city than We want,” he said.
The app works through a point system. Users, both driver and passenger, will add points for trips, which can be exchanged for rewards in discounts and services offered by more than 300 previously registered companies.
With this strategy, it is contemplated to increase the rate of passengers per vehicle, which is currently an average of 1.7; and in turn, that the number of units that are currently in circulation on the streets, and that are 416 thousand vehicles, be reduced.
He pointed out that the intention is that motorists can have a safe trip and share the car with a neighbor or people who go to the same destination, be it work, school or restaurant, and thereby create community.
There will be tutorials on social networks for the user to learn how to register, how to search for a trip and how to publish a trip. To register, a driver’s license, proof of address and vehicle insurance will be requested. .
In order to use the application, it is necessary to download the “Vamos Juntos” application on a mobile device, for which it is available for both iOS and Android.
