Petco confirms investment of 129 million in Querétaro

DURING THE BUSINESS SUMMIT, THE FIRST OF FOUR INVESTMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE STATE WAS MADE

From Querétaro, Petco will operate the Shared Services Center for its partners in Latin America, in which they invest 129 million pesos and which will allow the generation of 530 new jobs.

The announcement was made by the Governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, within the framework of the Mexico Business Summit 2022.

In his message, the president assured that these announcements reaffirm that the state is the best destination for foreign and national investment.

“We will continue working to maintain and improve the characteristics and qualities that have made them choose us. Querétaro is the best place for companies, we have the height, the quality and the capacity to receive them”, said the president.

Marco Del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development of Querétaro, reported that Petco has five pet supply stores in the state.

The company is in the process of looking for the land to be able to build, so it has not yet been defined in which municipality it will be installed.

He recalled that the United States reaffirms itself as the main trading partner in the state.
He indicated that, in the first half of this year, the United States has injected 231 million dollars; and from 1999 to date, they add up to 6 thousand 477 million dollars of capital.

“According to the Ministry of Economy, by August 2022 we have 240 US companies, 32 percent of the companies we have in Querétaro; the main businesses: professional services, support, consulting, real estate and auto parts manufacturing”, he indicated.

He added that, in Querétaro, 40 percent of imports and 81 percent of exports had the United States as origin and destination in 2021.
