Oaxaca de Juárez.- The Undersecretary of Federal Tourism, Humberto Hernández Haddad, and the Governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat Hinojosa, closed the Cuarto Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos, which registered an attendance of more than 20 thousand people and generated a spill higher than the 150 million pesos.

From October 11 to 14, 2,235 exhibitors participated in stands and 156 national and international buyers attended the tianguis headquarters, at the Oaxaca Cultural and Convention Center (CCCO), explained Hernández Haddad.

During the event, 1,699 business meetings were held with 121 exhibitors in the business area; In addition, academic conferences were held in which 625 people registered.

The Undersecretary of Tourism pointed out that the success of the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos “represents an opportunity to continue working for the transformation of tourism, showing a more human face of it, where localities can be made visible as quality destinations, open to Mexico and the world, and ready to offer a renewed, sustainable tourism, with warmth and quality, where the tourist offer continues to be our springboard to promote the development and diversification of tourism activity”.

Gastronomy had an outstanding presence at the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos 2022, with a special pavilion where 50 traditional cooks from the states of Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Yucatán and Morelos, who presented to the attendees part of the wide culinary offer that Mexico has . 

At the closing of the fourth edition of the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos 2022, Governor Alejandro Murat Hinojosa reiterated his thanks and appreciation to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur), headed by Miguel Torruco Marqués, for their trust and work in team, “to show that there is more Oaxaca in the world and more of the world in Oaxaca”.

Murat Hinojosa added: “We must not forget that the main objective of the Tianguis is to expand the tourist platform of Mexico and the states, such as Oaxaca, as they represent an opportunity to build success stories that directly impact in favor of the tour operators, providers of tourist services and tourist guides, the hotel and gastronomic sectors, that is, the entire population that benefits from this entire production chain.”

“Thanks to the entire team that participated in this event, because it is thanks to their efforts with our government that the fourth Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos was a success,” concluded the governor of Oaxaca.
