Juchitán de Zaragoza .— As a result of the recent torrential rains that hit the coastal strip of the state, damage to roads and highways has been recorded, making vehicular traffic between tourist destinations in the region difficult.

The municipal president of San Pedro Mixtepec, Javier Cruz Jiménez, reported that at kilometer 135, on the highway that goes from Puerto Escondido to the city of Oaxaca, at the height of the area known as Macahuite Blanco, the rains caused a sinkhole that prevented the passage of vehicles.

The sinkhole covers 80% of the highway, so Caminos y Aeropistas de Oaxaca (CAO) carries out preventive work until the bad weather passes.
