The sad farewell between Brayan and ‘Brandy’
A young migrant named Brayan Pinto had to separate from his faithful companion, Brandy, in order to cross the US border.
In social networks, the story of Brayan Pinto was told, a migrant who had to separate from his dog. All with the intention of seeking the American dream and having a better quality of life. The farewell of these friends has moved the internet.
According to international media, Brayan Pinto migrated from Venezuela to the United States with his dog named Brandy. His faithful companion was a gift that his late mother gave him in life. Therefore, the pet has always received love and attention.
“Leaving her is like leaving a family member”
It is said that upon arriving in the United States, Brayan Pinto requested asylum from the authorities of that country. But the bad news came when he was told that his dog could not stay with him. So he stayed in Mexico.
Sometime later, the 18-year-old Venezuelan returned to Mexico through the Rio Bravo. he looked for someone who could take care of his pet so that in a certain time he could take it to New York.
“THEY TELL ME THAT SHE HAS TO STAY ON THIS SIDE OR THAT SIDE, SEND HER TO A SHELTER AND STAY WITH AMERICAN PEOPLE OR IN THAT CASE THEY ARE GOING TO PUT HER TO SLEEP, AND NOW I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE DOG. SHE IS AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG THAT MY MOTHER HAD GIVEN ME BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY AND LEAVING HER IS LIKE LEAVING A FAMILY MEMBER, LIKE LEAVING A SISTER, A SON ON THIS SIDE.”
Photographer Carlos Sánchez found out about the moving case and decided to help Brayan Pinto. In addition, through TikTok the migrant narrated part of his experience in search of a better quality of life:
“HELLO, I’M BRANDY AND I SPENT EIGHT DAYS CROSSING THE DARIÉN JUNGLE, MY FAMILY HELPED ME CARRYING ME, BUT I STILL WALKED, MY LEGS ARE A LITTLE SICK AND BRUISED FROM THE WALK, BUT THANK GOD I’M OUT AND EVERYTHING IS FINE, TIRED, BUT WELL. WE ARE ALREADY IN A UN CAMP (OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION) TO CONTINUE”.
The sad goodbye of Brayan Pinto to Brandy
In some videos published on TikTok, the dog can be seen traveling, playing, and eating ice cream with Brayan. But the sad thing was when a photo and a video were published where the friends are saying goodbye.
“HE’S BEHAVING WELL, YOU HEAR? HE’S BEHAVING WELL,” THE YOUNG MIGRANT TOLD BRANDY.
The farewell moved thousands of people. In the images it is seen that, when the young man crosses the river without his pet, Brandy began to cry. Soon after, two underage girls began to fill the dog with kisses.
They also explained to the cute puppy that they would take care of her until her owner returned. The moment has caused tears in dozens of users of social networks.
