Quintana Roo maintained on travel US alert

The United States Department of State made the annual update of its travel alert for Mexico, in which Quintana Roo remains on alert Level 2 – Exercise greater caution.

There are no restrictions to travel in the state, including the tourist areas in: Cancun, Cozumel,
Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and the Riviera Maya.


In this regard, the Ambassador of the United States in Mexico commented that he endorses his commitment to work together to address the main security problems that affect both nations, also reaffirming the solid operational efforts between the agencies in charge of enforcing the law by in the face of these paramount security efforts.

“From the Ministry of Tourism we continue to work hand in hand with the North American authorities to guarantee the safety of tourists; maintaining close communication with the United States consulate and with the Department of State to avoid travel alerts that frame circumstances unrelated to the safety of tourists in Quintana Roo.
