Howard threatens the Mexican Pacific Coast

Howard is the name of the new tropical storm forming in the Pacific, not far from the Baja California Peninsula.

The storm is located 595 kilometers south of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur and 695 km from the coast of Colima.

The National Water Commission (Conagua) announced that tropical storm “Howard” is located 595 kilometers south of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur and 695 km west-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, in the Mexican Pacific.

The cyclone has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, gusts of 85 km/h and a northwestward movement of 19 km/h.

Its cloud bands increase the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in western Mexico.

In addition to winds with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h and waves of up to 2 meters high on the coasts of Jalisco and the south of Baja California Sur.
