Members of the Va por México alliance disapprove of the President’s announcement.

The National Action Party questioned where López Obrador’s promise not to militarize the country is and put up a poster where Mario Delgado can be seen when he was against militarizing the country.

The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés, said that the proposed decree is “clearly unconstitutional”, and maintained that with this announcement it is “very clear that this government does not respect the Constitution or the laws”.

The national PRI affirmed that the federal government’s announcement “is one more example of its contempt for laws and institutions. We will not allow them to violate the constitutional order, we will go to the corresponding instances.”

In his Twitter account, the national leader of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno, said that the National Guard is an institution with a civilian design and that a majority in Congress is required to change it.

For its part, the PRD wrote that it opposes the militarization of the security policy: “The National Guard was created by a Constitutional Reform. And this cannot be violated by a Presidential administrative agreement”.

Jesús Zambrano, national president of the Aztec sun, said that this announcement is a sign that López Obrador is “becoming a dictator who tramples on the Constitution,” in addition to being a preview of the disappearance of the INE and possible re-election.
