Serenity in Guanajuato Mexico: Home For Sale

1424

Establishing comfort in a new country includes identifying those elements that state, “I made this as a choice, not as a sacrifice”. When the owner of a property now on the market was faced with leaving the tropical, lush landscape of Costa Rica careful attention was given to what could replace and exceed the joy of where she had been.

There were other key locales in Latin America to explore with features she could embrace. Jettisoning car keys and moving to a walkable city was an important preference. Guanajuato, a place where tranquility is coupled with vitality, was identified as a marvelous destination. Housing in various countries often suggests a very different living standard.

Small kitchens and baths, light switches not logically placed, and poorly planned electrical panels that are promptly taxed or fail to support the 220 capacity needed for a few luxury items can be problematic.

Avoiding these pitfalls was how the owner was able to map out the needs of her new home. She used insights from previous experience in building a large, hi-tech, luxury home, to combine aspects of the lifestyle that reflected her tastes and preferences creating Casa Rosa Serenidad.

Fiber internet connections, modern appliances, granite counters, radiant heated floors, a bath with large glass enclosed shower, aqua massage tub, sauna, and heated towels with room to accommodate a masseuse made the transition a perfect fit.

The home’s periwinkle blue exterior reflects the colorful statement of Mexico. It boasts stunningly beautiful boveda ceilings that cause visitors to note them in their commentary. Casa Rosa Serenidad expresses the beauty of Mexico in a modern, luxury home with creature comforts at a fraction of the cost required north of the border. A true gem, settled just walking distance from Centro but far enough away from the throbbing heart of this historic city.

As the owner prepares for the sale of her thirteen-year home, she reflects on the beautiful life she’s created. She chose Guanajuato with its symphony, university, and UNESCO world heritage designation as her destination because this is a city where Mexican culture thrives. It’s a city small enough to offer camaraderie among groups of expats, organizations, and the local surrounding community.

It’s close enough to enjoy day trips to neighboring San Miguel de Allende. It offers familiar shopping favorites like Costco in the neighboring city of Leon. The international airport, just 25 minutes away, offers non-stop flights to Houston, Dallas and one-hour flights to beach locales like Puerto Vallarta or the vibrant capital of Mexico City.

And perhaps best of all, it boasts a climate that is quite temperate, never requiring shovels for snow, and is rarely extremely warm. It was a joyous experience – settling in Guanajuato, and a perfect decision to build the oasis, Casa Rosa Serenidad, that now awaits a new owner.
