Mexicans living in the US serenade AMLO’s wife Beatriz Gutiérrez Müeller

WASHINGTON, DC.- Beatriz Gutiérrez Müeller, the wife of President Andrés López, who has publicly declared that she does not want to be called “First Lady”; was serenaded outside the hotel where she and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador were staying in Washington DC.

Gutiérrez Müeller, who was severely criticized on social networks by many Mexican internet users for the outfit she wore to the White House during the presidential trip to the nation’s capital. The Mexican presidential couple met with Joe and Jill Biden on Tuesday, July 12th.

A group of Mexicans living in the capital of the United States showed up outside Hotel Lombardy with flags, batons, posters, and regional costumes to delight her and show her support.

Some of them declared to have traveled hundreds of miles from other states to be present at the serenade.

“How nice to receive a serenade at sunrise by our countrymen. Thank you to our compatriots living in Washington and to those who have traveled to be here! Gutiérrez Müeller wrote on social networks.
