Thanks to the combination of the talent of its staff and the most advanced technology, BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí began producing the seventh generation of the iconic BMW 3 Series in 2019. With more than 15 million vehicles sold in more than 130 countries, it is the most successful model of the brand.
Together with the BMW Group plants in Munich and China, the manufacturing complex in Mexico is proud to produce the BMW 3 Series for the world market.
It should be noted that the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosí is a pioneer in the field of smart maintenance thanks to the set of technologies and the use of “Smart Maintenance” software, which through process modernization achieves a 20% reduction in the time of maintenance work taking advantage of artificial intelligence, as well as electronic and mobile devices to support technicians in these tasks.
This is also the Group’s first factory to have a Production Control Room. This monitoring and control center brings together experts from different areas and allows them to carefully monitor the status of the production and logistics system.
Access to detailed and timely information is used by the BMW experts to carefully observe production and use the flexibility built into processes to adjust them for maximum efficiency when needed.
