Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard tests positive for Covid-19

The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, confirmed that on Monday, June 20th, he tested positive for Covid-19, for which he will comply with the health protocols and reported that he will continue to work remotely.

From his Twitter account, Ebrard assured that there is nothing to worry about.

“In my test today I came out positive for COVID-19. So I will be working from home. I feel like when you get a cold, nothing to worry about. Today I was not in the Security Cabinet meeting,” he wrote on the social network.

It is the first time that the official is infected.

Last weekend, the foreign minister was in Guadalajara, Jalisco, at the First Meeting of Local Representatives and Councilors of Morena, which was held as part of the Expo Guadalajara.

Likewise, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard revealed his aspiration to be Morena’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
