Historical! Mexico breaks the Guinness World Record for the Largest Boxing Class


The Zócalo plate broke the mark held by Russia with 14,299 attendees

Mexico broke the Guinness Record for the largest Boxing Class in the world, with the presence of 14,299 attendees at the capital’s Zócalo, beating Russia, which had achieved the mark on July 22, 2017, with three thousand people.

Minutes before 8:00 in the morning , the official presentation of the world boxing champions and former champions in different categories was made. Humberto ‘Chiquita’ González, José ‘Pipino’ Cuevas, Carlos “Cañas” Zárate, Guadalupe Pintor, César Bazán, Isaac “Tortas” Bustos, Rafael “El Bazuca” Limón, José Luis Bueno, Miguel “El Alacrán” paraded through the presidium. Andy Ruiz toured the Zócalo plate, carrying the WBC commemorative scepter. He was also accompanied by Óscar Valdez, Jackie Nava, Erick “El Terrible” Morales, Ana María “La Guerrera” Torres, David “El Rey” Picasso, Mariana “La Barbie” Juárez.

At 8:20 a.m., the notes of the Mexican National Anthem were sung.

To begin the Massive Boxing Class, the following were performed: head rotations, overhangs, uppercuts, jumping rope simulation, japs, squats, and waist movements, among other movements.

Mariana “La Barbie” Juárez, David “El Rey” Picasso and  Ana María “La Guerrera” Torres, gave the instructions to the attendees in the three rounds (of 10 minutes) that the day lasted.

Class ended around 9:10 a.m.
