ACAYUCAN, VERACRUZ (May 26, 2022).- In the middle of a public event, in broad daylight, an armed man assassinated Clemente Nagazaqui Escamilla, president of the DIF in Acayucan, Veracruz.
The victim had worked in the former Veracruz Attorney General’s Office. Escamilla was attending an event organized by a Civil Association in which the majority of the attendees were women.
The events occurred in the “Los Manguitos” room, in the municipality of Acayucan, Veracruz; and according to the first testimonies, the attack was directed against the deceased.
Given these events, an operation was launched by the State Public Security Secretariat to find those responsible.
“The State Attorney General’s Office reports that an investigation folder was opened for the events in which the President of the municipal DIF of Acayucan, Clemente Nagasaki Condado, was shot to death,” the FGE stated.
No arrests have been made in relation to this homicide so far.
