Traffic to Bahía de Banderas adds hours in delays

Thousands of tourists who travel by land to the destinations of the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta are still experiencing a marathon Holy Traffic.

Well, from very early on, federal highway 200 and the Guadalajara-Tepic highway have registered vehicular loads that are exceeding their capacities, even queues of between 2 and 3 kilometers are reported at the toll booths.

It all gets worse when you get to the 2-lane-only parts, where there’s just no room to get a head start on travel time.

To this, we must add the multiple road accidents that have occurred today on the highway, which have further stopped the flow of vehicles, both private and compact, as well as buses.

As a result, some people have traveled up to 8 hours between Guadalajara and Bahía de Banderas. It is estimated that the mostly national vacationers will continue to arrive until late at night.

8 hours of driving certainly represents a loss of a useful day at the beach and hotel, but there is no other option due to the lack of a complete highway.
