5G or the 5th generation is the mobile network that takes the internet speed one step ahead of 4G networks. The 5G is designed to create virtual connections amongst everyone and everything that even including devices, objects, and machines. The deploying 5G began in 2019 and the cellular phone companies are still working on expanding their 5G coverage. According to reports by the GSM Association, by 2025, there will be more than 1.7 billion subscribers of the 5G networks. The pop-up of the 5G network is especially high in North America and estimates say that 32% of North Americans will have a 5G network on their smartphones by 2023.

The Presence Of 5G Network In Mexico

Previously, Ericsson had made the announcement that along with Telcel, it will be deploying the first commercial 5G network connection this year and it covers 15 cities and will have 1,500 base stations. The initial phase of the plan is to deploy 5G in Mexico using the 5G Non-standalone or NSA mode. This mode allows it to run 5G on the existing 4G LTE network infrastructure. The existing infrastructure will be extremely helpful in the fast deployment of the 5G network. Once the initial phase is completed, the full implementation of the 5G standalone mode will be deployed in Mexico.

In addition to that, America Movil has also launched 5G in Mexico. Currently, the 5G network provided by America Movil exists in 18 Mexican cities and it is further aiming at creating the largest 5G commercial network in Latin America with the help of a $1.8 billion investment. Currently, more than one million Mexicans are connected with the 5G network from the subsidiary Telcel.

In the initial phase of Telcel’s 5G launch, 40 million people will be connected with the 5G network and the major hub of the connection will come from the people staying in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara. By the end of 2022, the company is targeting to expand to 120 Mexican cities. Even though the company is working for the 5G network, it will continue its 2G and 3G networks services.

During a recent tweet, Ookla 5G Map tweeted that the 5G map has more than 21000 new updates, and approximately, 1800 updates are by Telcel in Mexico. This indicates that the 5G network coverage in Mexico is fast expanding.

How Can a 5G Network Be Helpful In Mexico?

5G is 100 times faster than the 4G network and therefore it can be extremely helpful in revolutionizing the society, industry, and people of Mexico. The 5G network will reduce the latency rate, and faster connectivity, and also supports efficient bandwidth characteristics. You can check the current internet speed of your network in Speed Test or Totalplay. It is estimated that the 5G network in Latin America will generate USD 28.4 billion annually by 2030. In addition to that, the 5G network will also be helpful in connecting the rural areas and further, improving the broadband coverage in Mexico.

5G is set to bring a revolution in the world by changing the way machines interact and function. Not only does it improve the connection speed, but it also supports ultra-fast response too which is extremely low for 5G. This will be extremely helpful in bringing more innovation into the world. In addition to that, industries that are dependent on internet connectivity can also experience the power of the 5G network in the form of quick data transmission and easy and super fast interactions. Even in the manufacturing sector, 5G plays a critical role as it can be used for supporting critical applications, automation, and artificial intelligence.

5G will also be used to provide a more efficient cloud solution for maintaining constant internet connectivity and supporting remote storage, computing, and cybersecurity. The benefits of 5G deployment are many and in the coming time, the world will see the actual benefits of the 5G network

The Challenges Of 5G Deployment

There is also a huge challenge in implementing a 5G network. It is because for deploying a 5G network, new infrastructures are mostly required to be built and this requires a massive capital investment. 5G cannot be fully deployed using the existing mechanics of the 4G network, a complete overhaul of the existing base station is a part of deploying the 5G network. However, many telecom industries are working towards it and in the future, one can see a proper expansion of the 5G network across the globe.
