TEQUILA

You’re in Tequila, a city in Jalisco, to taste a shit ton of tequila. So to set the mood, I high-key recommend you check into Matices Hotel de Barricas, a boutique hotel that also happens to be a functioning tequila distillery surrounded by agave fields. Each room at Matices is its own barrel, created solely to be used as a place to sleep.

The state of Jalisco is where tequila was born, along with charros and mariachi music. The area offers a perfect mixture of climate-based necessities to grow the blue agave cactus – necessities that are so specific that Tequila, Mexico, is often called “Magical Town.” Located at the foot of the Tequila Volcano, this land was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2006.
