Art Week: The activities that await you in Mexico City

These days a series of fairs and exhibitions are held that show works by emerging and established artists.

The Art Week in Mexico City has already been inaugurated. For this reason, from February 9 to 13 of this month, different fairs and exhibitions are held where plastic and graphic expression will take its place to surprise visitors.

From Zona Maco, passing through Salón Acme, Salón Cosa, the Bada Art Fair, as well as different galleries that show works by emerging and established artists. With this, art connoisseurs and collectors can not only appreciate the exhibitions, but also buy some pieces.

ZsONAMACO

The contemporary art, photography, design and more fair exhibits a rich program of activities. They stand out from them:

  • February 11 : ‘Nobody Knows, Nobody Knew’. A proposal intervened by different artists such as Celeste, Cynthia Yee, Maximiliano Rosiles and Sombrea. This takes place starting at 6pm at Lucerna 32, in Colonia Juárez
  • February 13: Eduardo Castillo will present a live concert where he will use delicate soundscapes to arouse the emotions of the audience. It will take place at 9:30 pm at the Frontera Forum.

  • February 9 to 13: Sebastián Ángeles presents his most recent collection ‘Camino’, made up of two pieces, whose common thread is the theme of elections and their consequences.
  • February: 9 to 13: Casa Gutiérrez Nájera exhibits a selection of utilitarian objects from designers, architects and artists represented by the gallery at the Citibanamex Center.

In an old house, located in Motolinía 32, the third edition of this meeting of contemporary objects that is part of the Art Week takes place from February 8 to 13. In total there will be 23 invited artists: such as Ramiro Chaves, Jimena Montemayor, Víctor Barragán and Andy Medina, Georgina Treviño, among others, who will show some unpublished pieces.

Philia Gallery

The international gallery of modern and contemporary art presents its most recent exhibition called ‘Transatlantic’ by House of Kirschner, a label specializing in luxury events which is recognized for its avant-garde ephemeral installations. The proposal shows the work of different Latin American designers such as: geometric floor lamps, tables made of pure steel and brass, brutalist furniture in bronze, among others.

February 12: The Canvas Charro Constituents will receive the renewed version of this proposal where attendees will be able to dance, eat and drink in a new space specially created to join the Art Week.
