The wife of “El Chapo”, Emma Coronel’s sentence jas been reduced and she would be released in September 2023.
The drug trafficker’s wife is not in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She was supposed to be released in January 2024 based on the 36 months she was ordered to serve behind bars and taking into account the period since she was arrested.
However, Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, will be released on September 13, 2023, according to the United States Bureau of Prisons.
The drug trafficker’s wife, according to what she was ordered to serve behind bars, and taking into account the period since she was arrested, should have been released in January 2024. That means that her sentence was reduced from 36 to 31 months in prison.
