PROGRESO, Yucatan– For the first time, the cruise terminal was seen with a full house with three pleasure boats that coincided on Tuesday in the high-altitude port, one with 32 passengers that arrived on Sunday from Campeche, another that arrived from Honduras with 300 tourists that spent the night in the port and the third that arrived from Cozumel with 2,040 foreigners.
More than 2,300 passengers
The three cruise ships brought a total of 2,395 passengers, but as we reported, only about 300 stayed in this city, the rest stayed in the cruise terminal where there are craft shops and others were transferred to different tourist places, especially to the areas archaeological.
The Administration of the National Port System of Progress (Asipona) reported that on Tuesday at the remote terminal there was a triple arrival of cruise ships, three pleasure ships of different sizes coincided, all luxury.
The “Ocean Voyager”, heading to Cozumel
Since last Sunday, the “Ocean Voyager” cruise ship, which arrived from Campeche, brought on board 32 passengers and 81 crew members, was docked at the ferry dock. The pleasure ship that is operated by the shipping line “American Queen Voyages”, 92 meters long and 16 meters wide, sails cabotage in Mexican ports (Campeche-Progreso-Cozumel). The ship, whose navigation permit is pending, set sail on Tuesday for Cozumel.
“Silver Spirit”, from Honduras
That same Tuesday, for the first time and from Roatan, Honduras, the cruise ship “Silver Spirit” arrived, operated by the shipping company “Silver Sea Cruises”, docked at the south pier of the cruise terminal, brought on board 323 passengers and 382 crew.
The passengers of the “Silver Spirit” as well as those of the “Ocean Voyager”, considered of medium and high purchasing power, did not visit the port, according to reports, some were transferred to the archaeological zones or Mérida, and others stayed in the terminal of cruise ships. The “Silver Spirit” spent the night in this port and sailed yesterday Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The “Carnival Breeze”, from Cozumel
The “Carnival Breeze” of the shipping company Carnival Cruise Line, was the third cruise that was in the remote terminal, it arrived on Tuesday at 8:35 in the morning from Cozumel and set sail at 5:30 in the afternoon bound for Galveston. It brought on board 2,040 passengers and 1,286 crew members. Today, Thursday, the arrival of the “Carnival Valor” is scheduled, with 1,567 passengers.
