Ricardo Salinas Pliego tests covid positive for the second time

The Mexican businessman has repeatedly expressed his disagreement with the restrictions on economic activities due to the pandemic.

Ricardo Salinas Pliego tested positive for COVID-19. Through his Twitter account, the Mexican businessman who owns Grupo Salinas said that he “feels good”, and made a call not to be afraid and say that “Mexico cannot be stopped”.

The businessman posted his current state of health in four points: “You have to be brave and understand that EVERYONE is going to get COVID … with or without a vaccine, don’t be afraid,” he wrote on the social network.

This is the second time that the owner of Televisión Azteca, Banco Azteca, and Elektra stores contracted the disease, the first time was in October 2020, as he also stated that there is no need to be afraid because we are all going to get infected.

Salinas is one of the businessmen who has expressed his disagreement over the shutdowns in the economy that have led to the closure of businesses. He was also criticized for keeping Elektra units open during the toughest months of the pandemic, in 2020.

Through his Twitter account, Ricardo Salinas Pliego announced that he has always believed and invested in Mexico and Mexicans. He added that he asked his team to analyze whether it is feasible to acquire this bank. In a second publication, the owner of Grupo Salinas called Citi to say how much he wants for his “changarro” and, in case of acquiring it, he offered to open the bank 365 days a year from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
