Tepotzotlán’s Temple of San Francisco Javier a cultural center in the State of Mexico (VIDEO)

This town is approximately one hour north of Mexico City and is famous for the Temple of San Francisco Javier, an 18th-century construction declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site with golden altarpieces worth visiting. In addition, this temple is located in the National Museum of the Viceroyalty.

During the month of December in Tepotzotlán the Hostería del Convento organizes and presents the now famous Christmas Pastorelas of great artistic and cultural value.

These pastorelas constitute one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the month of December in Mexico.
