This concession will be valid for 50 years, starting in 2022.

The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) will operate the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport for the next 50 years, that is, until 2072, according to the validity of the concession that the Federal Government granted to the Mexican Army this morning.

Through the Official Gazette of the Federation, it was announced about the granting of the concession that the Ministry of Communications and Transportation gave in favor of the Majority State Participation Company Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles, SA de CV ., Belonging to the Sedena, with which it becomes official that it will be able to “build, manage, operate and exploit” the new Airport.

“This concession will be valid for 50 (fifty) years, counted from the start of operations of the Airport “, that is, from March 21, 2022, the day on which its delivery is projected. However, it is noteworthy that the document specifies that this term may be extendable in terms of article 15 of the Airports Law.

Another point to highlight is that, with this concession, the company may contract with third parties the provision of services for the “operation, administration, exploitation and, where appropriate, construction of civil aerodromes at any time and place”, but ” You will not be able to use, take advantage of or exploit the Airport for purposes other than those mentioned in the Law and in the Regulations ”.

Since last August 18, the heads of the Sedena and the SCT, along with civil and federal authorities, gave this company the concession, with which this company was also formally recognized by the Federal Government, a construction that reports more than 70 percent of its construction within five months of its delivery.
