The peasants stated that this protest is to demand that the current city ​​council of San Cristóbal de Las Casas conclude the lining of the section of the highway to the San José Bocomtenelté Educational Park, said work left pending the past administration.

“We are here on the road very early blocking and asking motorists a fee of 50 pesos, this money that we are going to collect is for the lining of the road that connects the highway to the San José Bocomtenelté tourist park, a work that I left unfinished the former municipal president Jerónima Toledo ”, said one of the residents.

Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles are seen making long lines waiting for their turn to pass, “We are only charging 50 pesos, and that money will benefit the recreational park.”
