Juan José Ruiz González, the undersecretary of Planning, investment and tourism development in the state, mentioned that each one has a capacity of approximately 180 passengers, almost reaching the figures recorded in 2019.

“It means for Mazatlán the recovery of a potential market that is very strong in Canada. Mazatlán is one of the favorite silver destinations for Canadians ”, he commented.

The flight arrived on time, 1:35 p.m. and before its arrival, personnel from the Mazatlán International Airport were already waiting for it to welcome it and baptize it with the traditional bathroom in charge of the fire truck.

Entire families came down, of all ages, adults, young people, and even a few children, and took the opportunity to take selfies and videos, taking off sweaters and sweatshirts that they carried from their place of origin.

For his part, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, indicated that the aerial recovery is still 7 percent below that reported in 2019, in international flights but estimates that by the end of the year it will recover, as well as the national one has been recovered.

“On the issue of air tourism we are only 7 percent down, without a doubt foreign tourism represents something very positive, especially, of these destinations in Canada and the United States, 95 percent of tourists arrive by flights “, said.

Other airlines that have been reactivated after the opening of the Canadian borders are West Jet and Swoop and there are still expectations for the reactivation with the western area of Canada.
