To continue consolidating itself as the venues of the most important sporting events at an international level, this morning it was announced that Zapopan and Guadalajara will host the L’Étape México by le Tour de France competition Presented by CiBanco.
It will be a sports fair that will allow fans of the world of cycling, beginners or advanced, to live the experience of the legendary Tour de France.
The Municipal President of Zapopan, Juan José Frangie, pointed out the importance of international events reaching the city due to the economic impact they generate and because, through them, the practice of sport is encouraged in girls, boys, and young people. .
“This type of event brings us many satisfactory things and the most important thing is the promotion of sport, which we believe is the basis of the social fabric and to keep all girls and boys away from vices and crime.”
For his part, the mayor of Guadalajara, Pablo Lemus, stressed that around 60 percent of the cyclists participating in this sporting event are from other states in the interior of the republic, as well as from other countries, who will have the opportunity to perform the tour of different municipalities.
“We are going to have this great cycling event and thereby attract more tourists to the city and, of course, continue promoting the sport,” he said.

The President of L’Étape México by Tour de France, Ramón Neme Aziz, recognized the effort that both municipalities have made to consolidate themselves as venues for the most important sporting events.
“Guadalajara and Zapopan are municipalities that never stop working to always be number one in the state and in the country, and the truth is that being able to organize an event like La Etapa Guadalajara – Zapopan in both municipalities, with the same flag the two, I think it is something that we have not done and it would be the first, “he said.
“This type of event puts Mexico on a high national and international level and you can see how you can work and you can work well, and the truth is that this gives us eyes to the world,” added Neme Aziz.
You can participate with a road bike, mountain bike or fixed bike with two brakes. The use of triathlon or chrono handlebar attachments is not allowed, the use of a rigid helmet is mandatory.
