The recent National Urban Public Safety Survey (ENSU) indicates which are the six most violent cities in Mexico, according to their own residents.

The survey registered that 94.3% of the residents of the city of Fresnillo, Zacatecas considered that living in the region is not safe above other cities such as Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, with 92.5% of perception of insecurity; Irapuato, Guanajuato, with 91.7%; Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, with 89%; Naucalpan, State of Mexico, with 88.3% and Zacatecas, Zacatecas, with 86.1%.

Impunity and corruption are keys to the violence that is experienced in these cities. In addition, their geographical position, which has made them an object of desire for the most powerful cartels in the country, the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).
