Continental México opens its new plant in Aguascalientes

The Continental technology company began operations on October 28th, at its new plant in Mexico, which will help continue to improve the company’s significant presence in our country, which now has 20 locations that include both manufacturing plants and Research and Development Centers.

By choosing Aguascalientes, Continental will be increasing the production of electronic components for the world market with an investment of more than 52 million euros and the potential creation of 1,000 new jobs in the next 5 years. This new Plant will focus its production on Telematic Control Units, Electronic Control Modules, Door Control Systems, Power Closure Modules, and Comfort Seating Systems.

With a vision for the future, this plant has two pillars: 

Sustainability: The construction met strict requirements and standards to ensure that the energy in its buildings can be used in the most efficient way. The plant currently has LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which is an international recognition for sustainable buildings created by the United States Green Building Council.

Industry 4.0: The plant has a flexible design and layout that allows the adaptation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for the transport of materials to the production plant, an automatic intelligent warehouse management system, and a computerized maintenance management system.

In addition to the above, the workspaces will be open, collaborative, and prone to coexistence, which encourages creativity and the exchange of ideas in a work environment that promotes our corporate values ​​(Passion for Winning, Trust, Freedom to Act, One for the Other).

The plant, located in the FINSA Industrial Park in the south of the city, has a total area of ​​24,000 m2 of which 7,000 m2 will be production areas and 4,000 m2 will be for storage.
