Merida Yucatan to host Mexico largest tourism expo to be held from November 16th to the 19th 2021

MÉRIDA, Yuc.- Through a video in which officials talk about this event to be held in person, the Ministry of Tourism reinforced the invitation to the tourism industry in Mexico and other countries to participate in the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turistico 2021, to be held in Yucatán, from November 16 to 19.

It is the most important meeting of the tourism sector in Mexico and Latin America, and given the current conditions derived from the Covid pandemic, the execution of the Tianguis is of great importance, they pointed out.

The 32 states of the Mexican Republic will participate in the Tianguis, and buyers and media from 70 countries are expected to attend.

Likewise, there will be a diversity of exhibitors, academic, artisan, and gastronomic exhibitions, among others.

To boost tourism

This Friday, through a statement, the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, stressed that the objective is to promote the promotion and marketing of tourist destinations, as well as their multiple products and services.

He emphasized that a priority will be bio sanitary safety, so the activities will be developed with the preventive measures indicated by the Mexican Ministry of Health (SSA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

He added that in this edition, as on other occasions, the Tianguis Turístico de México will have exhibition areas, stands, regional rooms, advertising spaces, business tables, and an auditorium for keynote speeches.

For his part, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal said that “in Yucatán, we are ready to make this unforgettable event, with the best spaces and innovation in the sector.”

Event returns after 15 months of waiting

For her part, the entity’s Secretary of Tourism Development (Sefotur), Michelle Fridman Hirsch, emphasized that, after more than 15 months of waiting, this event is more relevant than ever, as it represents a new beginning for the industry that So many benefits Mexico, and that it has been so hit by the recent crises. 

“Yucatán has been an example of resilience; In addition to its great natural, architectural and gastronomic beauties, it is the place where the world, as we know it, was born 64 million years ago, here countless stories and cultures, species and experiences have originated, and also here, during the 45th edition of the Tianguis, we will see the industry reborn ”, commented Fridman.
