At the cut-off at 5:00 p.m., the Ministry of Health announced that 3,707,234 active cases of the coronavirus disease have been reported in Mexico

This Thursday, October 7, the Ministry of Health (SSa) announced that, until the cut-off of 5:00 p.m. (Central Mexico time), 3,707,234 total accumulated cases have been confirmed in the country since the health emergency began. . Regarding the number of deaths, to date a total of 281,121 deaths have been reported.

With these numbers, in the last 24 hours there were 7,613 new infections and 514 deaths from COVID-19.

In addition, a total of 523,655 suspected cases, 6,607,808 negative cases and a total of 48,706 estimated active cases of the disease were registered; that is, patients who began to present symptoms in the last 14 days (September 24 to October 7, 2021).

According to the daily technical statement, the entities with the highest number of active cases of SARS-CoV-2 in descending order are:  Tabasco, Colima, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Yucatán, Querétaro, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Baja California and Aguascalientes.

Likewise, the Government of Mexico has registered the total number of infections accumulated by residence since the pandemic began, so the states with the highest number of reported cases are:  Mexico City  (953,861); State of Mexico  (366,045); Nuevo Leon  (199,040); Guanajuato  (178,185); Jalisco (156,654); Tabasco (137,032); Puebla (121,019); Veracruz (119,423); Sonora (109,120) and San Luis Potosí (100,310). These entities represent 66%, more than two-thirds, of the total accumulated cases in the Mexican Republic.

Likewise, the states with the highest number of deaths are : Mexico City (51,358); State of Mexico (31,949); Jalisco (16,219); Puebla (14,761); Veracruz (13,694) and Nuevo León (12,670).

The agency pointed out that the distribution by sex in confirmed deaths shows a  prevalence of 62% in men,  with an average age in deaths of 64 years; while confirmed cases show a higher prevalence in women, with 50.1% and the general average age is 39 years.

In addition, in the last five weeks,  most of the cases are present in the 18 to 29-year-old groups, followed by the 30 to 39-year-old and 40 to 49-year-old groups.

Regarding hospital availability, until October 4 the states with the highest percentage in general bed occupancy are  Puebla  (47%),  Baja California (43%) and Aguascalientes (40%). In turn, those with the highest percentage in beds with a fan are Aguascalientes (51%), Tabasco (38%) and Puebla (37%).

On the international scene, there are a total of  236,132,082 infections and 4,822,472 accumulated deaths worldwide. In the last 24 hours, 448,770 and 7,764 were reported, respectively. The overall fatality is 2 percent.
