Monterrey, Nuevo León (October 5, 2021).- After the reactivation of the major events in Monterrey, the Iron and Steel Technology Association, AIST Mexico Chapter, announced its Congress and Exhibition of the Steel Industry CONAC 2021, which will be held from November 8 to 10 at Cintermex, in the that expect the attendance of around 1,500 people who will be able to know the technological innovations of the industry.
Robert Freites, president of the AIST Mexico Chapter, pointed out that the most important thing about the congress is the technological update of the steel community, in addition to the collaboration between the participants in the industry who have the opportunity to meet in a single platform, both the steel producers, such as equipment suppliers, the steel-related academic community, as well as the AIST support network.
“The issue of interaction is very important, to update ourselves technologically, to see what is new in the steel market, in equipment, in the market of services related to steel, and with the new technological platforms, we have several companies that participate on the subject of robotization of the industry that will participate in the event ”, expressed Freites.

He recalled that the CONAC was scheduled to take place in March 2020 and had to be moved by the issue of Covid-19, and was scheduled for November 8 to 10 of this year, with all security measures.
“There are around 76 exhibitors and 80 technical conferences divided into different areas of the industry, hot rolling, cold products, uses of steel, direct reduction, industrial safety, which is increasingly important, maintenance and digitization, and industry 4.0” Freites said.
Among the topics of the congress he mentioned the environment, the decarbonization of the industry, industrial safety, which is a shared value of the entire community, in addition to new technologies and industry 4.0.
Félix Cárdenas, president of the organizing committee of CONAC 2021 highlighted that in addition to the conferences there will be three one-day courses, one on rolling mill, another on secondary metallurgy and another on industry 4.0.
These courses will be given on Monday the 8th, and in the afternoon of the same Monday will be the opening of the exhibition, and Tuesday and Wednesday will be the conferences that are divided into four topics: 1) Steelworks that goes from mining to continuous casting. 2) Lamination, in which they see all kinds of lamination, cold, hot, flat and non-flat. 3) Processes and uses of Steel ”and 4) Maintenance, safety and ecology.
Cárdenas, highlighted that the exchange of experiences between producers, suppliers and clients of the steel sector is one of the main attractions of this congress, in such a way that it helps them to be updated on new technologies and processes in the steel industry and suppliers come from Europe, Mexico, the United States and India.
