Macroeconomic indicators of Mexico: What to expect in 2022?

With the forecast for GDP and oil production, the Ministry of Finance projects that Mexico will obtain revenues of 6.17 trillion pesos in 2022. If macroeconomic expectations are not met, public finances will be under pressure.

The projections of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and oil production made by the federal government for the 2022 Federation Expenditure Budget Project look optimistic for the members of the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (Imef).

With the forecast for GDP and oil production, the Ministry of Finance projects that Mexico will obtain revenues of 6.17 trillion pesos in 2022. If macroeconomic expectations are not met, public finances will be under pressure.

Like the IMEF, the Center for Economic and Budgetary Research (CIEP) and Citibanamex have expressed that these variables are “optimistic”, since the consensus estimates a GDP of 3.0% for the following year, while financial institutions foresee that the daily barrels produced are around 1.6 million.
