1491

Less than 2 hours from the city of Oaxaca, in the Sierra Norte, is this beautiful Magic Town.

The ideal starting point is the Historic Center of Oaxaca, where we recommend you stay at the Grand Fiesta Americana Oaxaca where after a breakfast of champions at La Distral restaurant enjoying its extensive menu of typical dishes such as chilaquiles in yellow mole with jerky, Tetelas stuffed with chicken or the unmissable Tlayudas with beef jerky and the typical water chocolate, you are ready to start your road trip to Capulálpam.

In the heart of one of the best-preserved natural areas in Oaxaca, Capulálpam is recognized mainly for its medicinal traditions, where the Center for Traditional Indigenous Medicine is located, nationally recognized for its alternative medicine techniques, using herbs, clean and Temazcal baths, the magical hands of the Zapotec healers are an experience that you will not forget.

You cannot leave this beautiful Magic Town without first visiting the Temple of San Mateo, which inside preserves an old wooden paneling from the 17th century and its altarpieces from the 18th and 19th centuries, one of the oldest collections preserved in the Oaxaca state.
