The acting governor of Tabasco, Carlos Manuel Merino Campos, received in the state capital Villahermosa, Ken Salazar, the new United States Ambassador to Mexico, in a meeting in which they discussed economic and development issues for the southeastern region of the country.

For his part, the state governor said that this meeting is significant due to the political and business perspective that it represents and the opportunity that this constitutes as Tabasco is the gateway to the Mexican southeast for investment from the neighboring country.

He stressed that a meeting of governors of the southeast will be held in Tabasco, in order to address, together with the United States ambassador, issues of climate change, migration, security, and agricultural infrastructure.
