In the early hours of this Monday, there was an armed attack on Las Rosas street in the Reforma neighborhood, in Oaxaca, which left one dead.

According to preliminary reports, the victim was identified as Enrique Pacheco Martínez, who served as a Magistrate of the Administrative Justice Court of the State of Oaxaca ( TJAO ).

The Oaxaca General Prosecutor’s Office (FGEO), through its social networks, confirmed the identity of the victim and reported that the pertinent procedures are already being carried out, as well as the deployment of operations to find those responsible for the crime.

Unofficial versions report that the magistrate was boarding his truck on his way to the gym when the attackers, allegedly disguised as municipal cleaning workers, attacked him with firearms and fled the scene.

Faced with this, the governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat, reaffirmed his commitment to “arrest the culprits, both the intellectual authors and the deeds,” he told the media.

For his part, the head of the Ministry of Public Security ( SSP ) trusted that the Prosecutor’s Office will carry out the corresponding inquiries since “there are several elements” to open lines of investigation. Likewise, he clarified that “homicides are the same for those who have a position, as for those who do not.”

After confirming his identity, several public officials, as well as government agencies, expressed their condolences to those close to Enrique Pacheco.

Likewise, Naty Díaz, President of the State Steering Committee of the National Action Party ( PAN ), lamented the events and demanded immediate action to stop the wave of violence that is hitting the state.

“I deeply regret the murder of the Magdo. Enrique Pacheco Martínez; an honorable and responsible man.

It is urgent and necessary that the Federal Government and the State of #Oaxaca stop with strategy this wave of violence that affects us all. We demand security and peace! ”He wrote on his Twitter account.

Similarly, Héctor Pablo, General Director of the State Water Commission ( CEA ) of the state lamented the death of the “young professional” and sent his condolences to the family for the loss.“I regret the cowardly murder of Judge Enrique Pacheco Martínes, a young professional dedicated to his work and his family. Rest in peace”.

Graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ), the lawyer Enrique Pacheco Martínez was a member of the Superior Chamber of the TJAO.

Prior to this position, he had served in the Contentious, Administrative and Accounts Court of the State Judicial Power body which he chaired from January 2016 to April 2017, and was appointed in 2015.

He also practiced in other areas of the Judicial Power, such as: Meritorious of the Third District Court of the Federal Judicial Power; Assistant Secretary to the President of the Superior Court of Justice of the then Federal District (DF), among others.

In addition, he was director of the Oaxaca Ministerial Police in 2004; Advisor to the Federal Attorney General of Justice in 2009, and decentralized investigative prosecutor in Álvaro Obregón from 2009 to 2010.
