53% of the country at high risk and 40% at moderate risk

The Ministry of Health reported that in 24 hours there were 725 deaths and 17,409 positive infections

The  Ministry of Health  (SSa) updated this Friday the  Epidemiological Traffic Light of coronavirus ( COVID-19 ), which will be in force from  September 06 to 19.

Through the official website, the Government of Mexico indicated that the country will be colored as follows:

In ” red ” (maximum risk of contagion)  there will be no status,  which has not happened since the update on July 2. The last ones were Colima, Guerrero, Puebla, Hidalgo, Tabasco, Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, two weeks ago.

On the contrary, with the color “ green ” (low risk), Chihuahua returns and Chiapas remains, as has been all of 2021.

In ” yellow ” or moderate risk, there will be 13 states, six more than the last report: as had already been announced since this morning, Mexico City is added   to  Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Durango, Coahuila, Zacatecas, Nayarit, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Oaxaca and Quintana Roo.

While in ” orange ” (high risk) will be for the second consecutive time 17 entities:  Sonora, Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Veracruz, State of Mexico, Querétaro, Puebla, Hidalgo, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Guerrero, Colima , Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán.

The four elements evaluated to determine the color of the traffic light in each entity are: the percentage of occupation of beds in intensive care, percentage of positive cases of coronavirus; the trend of occupied beds and trend of positive cases; that is, the expected behavior based on current numbers, and which is calculated by the National Council of Science and Technology ( Conacyt ).

On the other hand, it was reported that until this Friday, September 3, 3,405,294 cases of accumulated infections of coronavirus ( COVID-19) have been registered. In addition, since the beginning of the epidemic, Mexico has suffered  262,221 deaths from the disease.

This represents that there was an increase of  17,409 infected in the last 24 hours, as well as  725 deaths.

Likewise, there are  2,744,885 people recovered, 5,997,100 negative cases and a total of 9,897,911  people studied from the first case.

According to the daily technical statement of the Ministry of Health, to date there are an estimated 100,258 active cases of the disease in the country; that is, patients who began to present symptoms in the last 14 days (from August 21 to September 3, 2021).

Colima, Tabasco, Mexico City, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Nayarit and Campeche are the entities with the most active cases, in order from highest to lowest.

Regarding  hospital availability, the average occupation of general beds in health centers is  48%  and  43%  for intensive therapy beds.

Regarding the session of the National Vaccination Strategy against SARS-CoV-2, the agency announced that so far  86,307,586 doses  of the formulas  Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Janssen, Sinovac, CanSino and Modern

Just this Thursday, September 2,  461,794 new doses were applied.

Of that total,  35,032,194 people have received the full schedule  (two doses or one, as is the case with the Cansino and Janssen vaccine). This means that  65% of the population aged 18 years and older has received at least one dose in the country, according to the Ssa.

The Daily Technical Report indicates that 18 of the 32 states report progress higher than the national average, which is 64 percent. The  City of Mexico, Quintana Roo, Queretaro,  reported the greatest advances in immunization.

This agency reiterates the invitation to people over 18 years of age to go to get vaccinated.

Those with COVID-19 alarm symptoms such as: shortness of breath, rapid pulse and breathing, fever that does not go away, chest or chest pain; in girls and boys, persistent crying, they should request timely medical attention or call the national emergency number 911 , to be channeled to hospitals according to availability.
