Juchitán de Zaragoza.- Due to the increase in active, accumulated cases and deaths due to Covid-19 in the municipality of Santa María Huatulco, the municipal authority determined that there are no conditions for returning to classes in person, as it is risk the lives of students, parents and workers of the educational centers in the area.
In an official statement, the municipal authority determined that there are no conditions to guarantee the development of face-to-face classes, so it was determined that the return will be virtual at all educational levels of the municipality, to avoid mass mobilization in transportation public and interaction in school recreation areas that may increase the risk of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus .
They also pointed out that permanent monitoring is maintained together with the school authorities, and through the results that are obtained, future decisions will be determined, while respecting the red traffic light that the municipality has and that is projected until September 3.
The municipal authority warned that if any educational center decides to operate in person, responsibilities will be placed on it, in case there is an outbreak of Covid-19 in students and staff.
The municipality of Santa María Huatulco maintains its sanitary restrictions at 30% capacity in its tourist areas, with the opening of the beaches from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., partial sale of alcoholic beverages, in addition to the suspension of parties, worship meetings, contact sports activities and street markets.
