Ford appoints Luz Elena del Castillo as new CEO in Mexico

Del Castillo is the first woman to lead the company since 2008 when Louise Goeser left the position.

Ford Motor Company announced that Luz Elena del Castillo was named president and CEO of Ford of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean, a position that she will occupy as of October 1 in relief of Héctor Pérez, who retires from Ford after almost 30 years of service for the company.

She is the first woman at the helm of the company since 2008 when Louise Goeser left the position to lead Siemens Mesoamerica.

As president and CEO, Luz Elena will lead the region’s operations including marketing, sales, service, and will oversee product development, purchasing, FBS, and manufacturing plants. Currently, Luz Elena is the director for Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

“I am proud to be able to take on this new challenge and be at the helm of the first assembly plant that arrived in the country, and that today plays a strategic role for the brand at a global level. Ford of Mexico is distinguished by its great vehicles and I am excited to develop new ways to serve our customers in the region, ”said Luz Elena.

Born in Colombia, Luz Elena del Castillo has a degree and master’s degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, in Cincinnati; He also has an MBA from the Universidad de los Andes, in Colombia.
