So far there are 147,704 people who have presented symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days, which if they do not maintain sanitary measures, could potentially contribute to the transmission of the virus

In the framework of the third wave of COVID-19 in Mexico, the number of accumulated cases increased to 3,101,266, after the Ministry of Health ( SSa ) reported 9,295 new infections in the country Sunday.

Regarding the number of deaths due to the viral disease, the agency registered 213 deaths in the last 24 hours, so the total number rose to 248,380 deaths since the pandemic reached the national territory.

Likewise, the health agency reported that in the epidemiological week under analysis, 147,704 people presented signs and symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days, so they are considered active cases and if health measures are not maintained, they could potentially contribute to transmission of the virus; these represent 4.5% of the total epidemic in the country.

In this sense, according to the document, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Tabasco, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Quintana Roo, Guerrero, Nayarit and Colima , are the entities with the highest number of active cases (more than 3,000 cases).
