Dating applications are increasingly used by singles who want to find love, go out and meet another person, for this reason, technology companies have taken on the task of creating various options for the public.

The so-called “sugar daddies” will no longer be able to make appointments through Google digital applications.

As of September 1, the Google Play Store will ban apps that promote sexual intercourse in exchange for financial compensation.

The restriction comes after the company updated its “inappropriate content” policies.

In Mexico there are different applications of this type, both for Android and for the iPhone iOS system, such as “Sugar: date & meet new people”, “Seeker: Mature Dating App” “Seeking Age gap dating & match” and “The Upscale “, where users can define the age range they are looking for in their next partner, and even define the person for a date, based on the professional and economic success of the interested parties.

In some of the sites it is explained that, in order to access financial compensation, the interested parties must agree to have sexual relations with the “sugars”, while in others tests are required to prove that the person does not suffer from any sexually transmitted disease.

What is a “sugar daddy”?

The term “sugar daddy” refers to an elderly man who offers financial or material support to a young woman (sugar baby), this practice has become very popular in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Colombia, and now also in Mexico.

According to the “SeekingArrangement” app, Mexico is the country with the most “sugars” registered on its platform, with 183,302 users.
