Mexican Navy secures almost 2 tons of marijuana in Manzanillo, Colima

Manzanillo, Colima (August 6, 2021).- At the facilities of the Port of Manzanillo Customs, in the state of Colima, agents of the Secretary of the Mexican Navy (Semar), in coordination with staff from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), secured 1,712.8 kilograms of marijuana.

Federal agents made a routine inspection of five containers, which were destined for the port of Santiago de Chile, and it was when they detected inside manufactured boxes that did not correspond to the design of the container and that hid the illicit cargo.

FGR started the investigation of the case

After counting the insured product, they added 30 pallets containing 1,716 packages, giving an official weight of 1,712.8 kilograms.

In order to carry out expert studies and integrate the investigation folder, the drug was made available to the corresponding authorities.
