Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- With the new provision that came into effect this Monday, August 2, around the presentation of the anti-COVID vaccination certificate to be able to enter bars, restaurants, nightclubs, or any public space, it is the responsibility of those in charge of those businesses requests the document, said Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola.

The secretary of Public Security in Mazatlán specified that the municipality, through the New Normal Operation, is in charge of checking that businesses comply with health protocols, in order to avoid new infections of coronavirus. 

“The vaccination card must be requested by the same representative of the restaurant, the business, the nightclub. What we are doing is going to support the New Normal Operation with the presence, to see that in the bars they are actually complying with the healthy distance and the use of the mask “, he indicated.

The high command specified that the police accompany and go to bars, clubs, restaurants to verify that they comply with the provision against COVID, they even walk along the coastal area, on the beaches and have found tourists who sometimes refuse to wear face masks because they say they are already vaccinated, and it is explained to them that they can still get coronavirus so they must respect the health guidelines.  

Despite indications, establishments in Mazatlán are not asking for the vaccination certificate

Despite arguing that they knew about the new sanitary standard, most of the most important establishments in the port have not yet taken for granted that a vaccination certificate will be required, since so far they have not been given the order.

By official decree, as of August 2nd each of the establishments in Mazatlán should be requesting the certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 to be able to access, but there were still premises early in the day that they have not applied such a regulatory measure due to lack of communication.

Despite arguing that they knew about the new sanitary standard, most of the most important establishments in the port have not yet taken for granted that a vaccination certificate will be required since so far they have not been given the order.

In markets such as Pino Suárez and Juan Carrasco, those who are in charge of carrying out sanitary control expressed knowledge of the measure, however by not having informed them if it will apply or not, for now, they will be allowing people to simply access with temperature control, application of antibacterial gel and use of mouthwash.

Other establishments that have not received the instruction so far have been some of the shoe stores in the city center, as well as haberdasheries in even Plaza Galerías, considering the same explanation as in the markets.

Nor is it being requested in these establishments: Sole Mare, Office Depot, Pet Co, Soriana, Oxxo, and Starbucks.

As for establishments such as Panama or Gran Plaza, it will be required to present the certificate that proves that they have been immunized, however, unlike the restaurant, Gran Plaza security personnel provided the information that access will not be stopped to those who do not have your certificate, but it will let you know that it is an obligation wherever you go, in addition to the fact that there will be another access filter in the establishments inside.

The restaurant Los Huevos Días and Burger King is also requesting it.
