The normalistas suspended their protest and decided to march from that place to the center of the capital city.

Anti-riot agents of the State Police (PE) yesterday morning prevented student teachers from the Federal Superior Normal School of the State of Oaxaca (ENSFO) from blocking the crossing of federal highway 185 Ciudad Alemán-Puerto Ángel and the entrance to the international airport Benito Juárez from Oaxaca.

The officers of the corporation, with the support of an anti-riot tank, known as a rhinoceros, were located in the vicinity of that intersection to encapsulate the student teachers and thus avoid the closure of vehicular traffic at that intersection.

However, around 2:45 p.m., the student teachers blocked the traffic lane of the federal highway 185 Ciudad Alemán-Puerto Ángel, heading for the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, between pushes by the PE riot agents.

In the afternoon, the student teachers suspended their protest and decided to march from that place to the center of the capital city.

The representative of the ENSFO Student Council, Dalia Hernández Sánchez said that the student base has been mobilizing in the streets since last December 12 to present their claims, including payment of wages owed for four years, attention to administrative backwardness, and the modification of the secretarial agreement 284, to allow the Educational Support and Assistance Personnel (PAAE) to continue their professionalization.

However, he stressed that the IEEPO’s response has only been through the media and social networks with inaccurate and untruthful information.

“There has been no precise answer,” he said.

In addition, he observed that the IEEPO has unleashed a campaign of lynching and criminalization in social networks against the director of the ENSFO, Efrén Avecillas Cortés, and members of the Student Council.

“They also use the networks to defame with false information and even use photographs of relatives who have no relationship with the ENSFO,” he noted.

For this reason, he blamed the director of the IEEPO, Francisco Ángel Villareal, the secretary of Public Security, Heliodoro Díaz Escárraga, and the governor Alejandro Murat Hinojosa, in the face of the criminalization of the protest and the call for incited violence against the student community of the ENSFO.

In the same way, he called on the bases of Section 22 of the SNTE to defend the ENSFO, as it is the product of the struggles of the Democratic Movement of Education Workers of Oaxaca (MOTEO).

 “There have been answers”

Meanwhile, in a statement, the IEEPO reported that it has offered responses to the Federal Higher Normal School of Oaxaca (ENSFO) and stressed that it maintains a willingness to dialogue and agreement to settle any demand through institutional channels.

Likewise, he urged the student teachers to channel their concerns through a peaceful, legal, and understanding way, since according to a signed minute, the IEEPO follows up on different issues.
