The Government of Mexico, through the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), sent a second contingent of 101 combatants to contribute with the mitigation and extinction tasks of the more than 300 active forest fires that affect the province. of British Columbia in Canada.
Cooperation on the Mexican side is managed jointly between Conafor, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) and the SRE, with the Canadian Center for Forest Fire Interagency (CIFFC).
It should be noted that this is the fourth time this exchange mechanism has been activated between the two countries, and the second this year.
