Massive events banned in Colima due to increase in Covid cases

The health authorities of the state of Colima reported that starting Thursday, July 22nd, mass events held in bars, party halls, rodeo, sports leagues, as well as team and contact sports are prohibited due to the increase in Covid-19 infections.

On Thursday afternoon, the State Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks (Coespris) announced a statement by which it reminded citizens that it is not yet allowed to carry out massive events since the epidemiological traffic light remains yellow and these activities are temporarily prohibited in order not to spread the virus further.

In its technical report, the Secretary of Health of the state of Colima detailed that 161 new infections were registered, as well as three deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. So far there is an accumulated 12,746 positive cases in the state and 1,342 total deaths.

In the last hours, a man and two women between 35 and 65 years old, died from Covid-19. They were hospitalized in an emergency and in serious condition, as reported by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
