San Miguel de Allende will offer high-end tastings in its beautiful vineyards

Barra México 2021, from August 26 to 30, the San Miguel de Allende Tourist Council will offer a wide range of restaurants, adventure experiences, romance and culture for drink lovers.

Due to its tradition, gastronomy, art, and architecture, in addition to being declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2008 and awarded various awards such as Best City in the World 2018 & 2019 by Travel + Leisure, Best Small City in the World 2017 & 2020 by Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards; Top 20 Destinations by Forbes Magazine and others, San Miguel de Allende, in Guanajuato, prepares a high-end enology-related event.

With the Barra México 2021 event that will take place from August 26 to 30 with the collaboration of the Government of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende Tourist Council, and other brands, it is expected that the event will reactivate the economy of the Mexican Bajío and from various local industries.

In the presentation, Laura Torres Septién-Torres, president of the San Miguel de Allende Tourist Council, pointed out that “San Miguel de Allende is the place that is characterized by hosting the best events, for that reason, Barra México chose us to take out its sixth edition that will be the perfect complement to the wide range of hotels, restaurants, adventure experiences, romance, culture and much more; this experience that is not only for fans of cocktails but for all those who want to experience something different and unique in Latin America”.

In his opportunity, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato highlighted the tourist diversity of the entity: “Guanajuato has distinguished itself for hosting major events and a favorite destination for its tourism diversity, hospitality and magnificent settings. The gastronomic, wine tourism and distillate segments have taken quite a boom in recent years, positioning the state as one of the main national producers and generator of great stories for visitors, favoring the health of the attendees ”.



It should be noted that the event is the first with Climate Positive  in the industry, to reduce the carbon footprint, since through the Neutralízate initiative, it seeks to offset CO2 emissions in the transportation of guests, in addition to being offset through of the purchase of carbon capture certificates for the protection of forests in the state of Oaxaca.
 
For the event, free transportation will be offered to the attendees of the Villa Barra México, all under a strict anti-covid security protocol to protect the health of the attendees and the inhabitants of the city.
 
The event will be held in collaborationwith World Meetings Forum (WMF) Foundation and friendly with the LGBTTTIQ + community, recognizing its role in the industry.

Gala in vineyards

The event has been designed to be a different experience for fine drinking lovers and industry professionals who will be able to taste exclusive products and novelties through activations, tasting area, workshops, seminars, cocktail routes, live music, dinners, pairing, tastings and private experiences with national and international brands.

From August 26 to 30, activations will be held in more than 30 spaces in San Miguel de Allende (bars, restaurants, terraces, gardens, art galleries, cafes, shops and emblematic points of the city). 



Meanwhile, from August 27 to 29, Villa Barra México –in the San Lucas vineyard– will become the main headquarters and will have the presence of 100 brands and will offer 12 seminars and tastings. This space will also open the doors to a new and interesting conversation about the wine culture of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, placing them as worthy representatives at the international level.
