No damages reported from 4.8-degree earthquake in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca

This Friday at 4:07 p.m. an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 on the Richter scale was registered with an epicenter 36 kilometers southeast of Tlacolula de Matamoros, in the Central Valleys region

The State Coordination for Civil Protection of Oaxaca (CEPCO) reported that so far no damage or effects have been reported by the 4.8 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale, with an epicenter 36 kilometers southeast of Tlacolula de Matamoros, in the Central Valleys region, recorded this Friday at 4:07 p.m.

Oscar Valencia García, head of the agency, reported that on the instructions of Governor Alejandro Murat, and through his regional delegates, constant monitoring is maintained in the eight regions of Oaxaca.

“CEPCO remains alert to inform the population of the presence of natural events that affect the population, and recommends in the face of these eventualities, to take the necessary measures to safeguard the safety and lives of Oaxacans,” reported the agency in a statement.
